I sistemi liberaldemocratici sono alla frutta (in certi casi alla grappa) e trionfa invece la superpotenza cinese: un regime comunista che si appresta a diventare la prima potenza economica mondiale.

Un Paese che col suo miliardo e 300 milioni di abitanti ha il 20 per cento della popolazione mondiale (un essere umano su cinque è cinese).

Una superpotenza che già oggi detiene un pacchetto enorme del debito europeo e americano ed è in condizioni di prendere per le orecchie l’inquilino della Casa Bianca prescrivendogli - come ha fatto nei giorni scorsi - le misure economiche da assumere e intimandogli pure di fare in fretta

IL TRAMONTO DELL'OCCIDENTE
Tramonto dell’Occidente e ascesa del Dragone rosso d’oriente. Questo è il titolo del film che sta scorrendo davanti ai nostri occhi. Il peso politico di condizionamento del regime cinese che si dispiegherà da ora in poi (come già sta accadendo in Asia) è facile a immaginarsi.

Comincia un’era durissima per le democrazie. Anche perché sono minacciate in casa da un altro nemico, che poi ha favorito e alimentato la crescita del dragone: un potere finanziario selvaggio, anonimo e privo di vere regole e vincoli, favorito da dispositivi finanziari e tecnologie informatiche devastanti, che è capace di puntare a colossali guadagni speculativi mettendo in ginocchio interi stati. Un potere al quale nemmeno la superpotenza americana sa far fronte.

Anche perché le classi dirigenti occidentali appaiono prone o impotenti davanti a tali poteri. La corsa ai guadagni speculativi illimitati - che arriva a scommettere sul fallimento di interi stati - ha messo in ginocchio le economie occidentali, anche grazie al cattivo governo o a errori di lunga durata delle classi politiche, ma soprattutto ha demolito l’autonomia e la sovranità degli stati e il primato stesso del sistema democratico.

Siamo dunque stritolati da una tenaglia costituita da un lato dai poteri forti della finanza internazionale e della tecnocrazia anonima e dall’altra da un colosso economico e demografico cinese che ha fatto propria la cultura del profitto illimitato pur mantenendo la ferrea dittatura politica del partito comunista (del resto il primato assoluto del fattore economico era già alla base della filosofia marxista). Entrambe queste potenze manifestano un certo disprezzo per la sovranità popolare e per le procedure delle democrazie: lo si è visto con clamorosa evidenza nei giorni scorsi quando, sia le divinità dei “mercati” che il Dragone rosso, hanno espresso irritazione per le “lentezze” delle decisioni dei politici. E disappunto per l’incapacità delle democrazie di agire tempestivamente nel dissanguamento dei cittadini contribuenti.

Per non dire di una politica estera che ha appoggiato i regimi più sanguinari, da quello cambogiano di Pol Pot e coreano di Kim Il-Sung, fino all’appoggio, dato in questi anni, al feroce regime sudanese che ha permesso a Pechino di accedere al petrolio africano. Ora davvero la Cina è vicina.
