Albania Protesters and Police Trade Gunfire as Cabinet Flees
One protester was killed, and four guards of Prime Minister Fatos Nano were wounded as marchers and police officers traded gunfire. Clouds of smoke from burning cars rose over the center of the capital.
The violence was set off by the killing of a popular politician, Azem Hajdari, 35, and a bodyguard, who were shot on Saturday in front of headquarters of the opposition Democratic Party.
