SPD's 'Unrealistic' Jobs Pledge Risks Drowning Out Solid Economic Plan

German media commentators have scoffed at an election pledge by the center-left SPD to create four million new jobs in the next decade. But some say the party's underlying 'Germany Plan' is a coherent strategy to focus the economy on green technology.

Germany's Social Democrats risk shooting themselves in the foot with their "Germany Plan" to create 4 million jobs over the next decade, write several media commentators. The pledge is too bold to convince voters who remember previous broken promises to slash unemployment, most notably by former chancellors Gerhard Schröder and Helmut Kohl.

... the actual need is for at least 8 millions of new jobs ...
... and it is possible, but it will be useless "by 2020" ...
... because the western world could be already in chaos by then ...
... the eight million jobs are needed within two years ...
... here, something to think about, from GBS ...

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man."
