Reversing the Economic Plunge
Will Germany Beat the US to Recovery?

By Moira Herbst

The race to economic health is pitting export-driven economies with strong social-assistance programs against those that count on consumer spending. Germany and Europe are looking good this quarter, but doubts persist about whether the recovery can be sustained.

It has been a rhetorical battle of Anglo-Saxon vs. Continental capitalism. Since the onset of the economic crisis, German leaders have scored political points by railing against the flaws of the US and British economic systems, even as counterparts such as US President Barack Obama and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown pressed for bigger economic stimulus packages. Just this month, German Economics Minister Peer Steinbrück warned that the "casino capitalism" practiced in overseas financial centers will resume without stronger regulation.

... all true ...
... playing with this folks is casino capitalism ...
... except that the mobsters in vegas are of different families ...
... than the mobsters in wall street and DC ...

... europe needs to look at an european philosophy in economy ...
... and even more at a european philosophy in technology ...
... the american logic can not work in europe ...
... we don't have anough oil and coal ...
... and we are not willing to go to war with the whole planet ...
... to take their oil ...
... so our car makers can build shitty three miles per gallon products ...
... and sell them to a country of uneducated morons ...
... praying and waiting all day for the rapture ...

... where we are out of reality ...
... is "persisting" in old design ...
... if we were building hispano suiza ...
... nobody could or would buy them ...
... now the second war revolution was going from this heavy dinosaurus ...
... to VW bugs and 2CV ...
... less gas, less weight ...
... forget what the people want ...
... they all want aston martin's but they cant afford them ...
... we are in 1929 bis, and in this circumstance ...
... the only car maker that does not look like a moron ...
... is Tata in India ...
... that builds lightweight 3000 dollars cars ...

... this reasoning can be applied to most fields ...
... without "revolutionary new" products ...
... there wont be "revolutionary new results" ...
